Renjini Thomas's A Mission to Make Art Sustainable
Renjini Thomas's vision is to make art sustainable and eco-friendly. She believes that waste can be transformed into something useful and beautiful. She says, "Glass is a material that can last forever. It can be recycled endlessly without losing its quality. But most of the glass waste ends up in landfills or oceans, where it harms the environment and wildlife. I wanted to change that."
She collects glass bottles from scrap dealers and through collection drives. She cleans them, cuts them, paints them and decorates them with various materials such as jute, beads, shells, etc. She also makes pallets using wooden planks and nails. She sells her products online through her website https://vapasee.in/ and through social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
She also conducts workshops and training sessions for students, homemakers and anyone who wants to learn how to upcycle glass bottles. She says, "I want to spread awareness about the importance of recycling and reusing waste materials. I want to inspire people to create their own art using waste."
